About Us

Our Story
Foreign Vase Talk was born from a simple passion: to share the beauty of handcrafted, culture-rich vases from around the world. Founded by a team of design enthusiasts and travel lovers, we noticed a gap in the market: many stunning, artisan-made vases from small workshops in Italy, Japan, Scandinavia, and beyond were hard to find for everyday consumers. In 2022, we set out to change that – curating a collection that isn’t just about “holding flowers,” but about bringing a piece of global craftsmanship, history, and style into your living space. Every vase we select tells a story: of a ceramicist in Tuscany perfecting their glaze, a glassblower in Amsterdam shaping bubble glass by hand, or a Japanese artisan honoring wabi-sabi philosophy in each rough-hewn piece. We’re not just a store – we’re a bridge between talented makers and people who want their homes to feel unique.
Our Core Mission
At Foreign Vase Talk, our mission is threefold: 1) Celebrate Artisan Craft: We prioritize small-batch, handcrafted vases over mass-produced items, ensuring each piece has character and quality. 2) Simplify Global Discovery: We handle the sourcing, shipping, and quality checks, so you can easily shop vases from 12+ countries without the hassle of international import. 3) Empower Your Space: We believe a well-chosen vase can transform a room – whether it’s a minimalist Nordic glass vase on your desk or a bold Moroccan ceramic floor vase in your living room. We want to help you find pieces that reflect your style, not just follow trends.
Our Strict Criteria
Every vase in our collection goes through a 4-step selection process to ensure it meets our standards: 1) Craftsmanship Check: We verify that each piece is made by skilled artisans (not factories) – whether it’s hand-painted, hand-etched, or hand-blown. 2) Material Safety: We test for non-toxic glazes (for ceramics), lead-free glass, and durable materials that stand the test of time. 3) Cultural Authenticity: For region-specific styles (e.g., Greek vintage motifs, French colored glass), we work with local partners to ensure designs honor traditional techniques, not just mimic them. 4) Practicality: We balance beauty with function – our vases are designed to hold flowers (fresh or dried), fit common spaces (tables, floors, shelves), and be easy to clean. If a vase doesn’t pass all four steps, it doesn’t make it to our site.
